About

Kathleen grew up in Rhode Island, graduating from Rhode Island College with a BA in Elementary Education/Psychology. In the mid 70’s, teaching positions were scarce, so Kathleen pursued media sales, enjoying a 28-year career in business-to-business US & international publishing. She represented multiple publications serving the US, Europe, and Asia.

In 2007, Kathleen left the corporate world and went to work for the Glastonbury Abbey Bookstore in Hingham, MA. She was able to share her sales and marketing skills with the Abbey in various roles, departments, and projects. Kathleen loved working on the sacred grounds of the Abbey and felt her positions were truly a ministry, serving each customer on their unique spiritual journey. A few years later, Kathleen became a lay Benedictine Oblate with Glastonbury Abbey, representing the Abbey at the 4th International Oblate Congress in Rome.

Kathleen particularly enjoyed learning the independent bookstore business, especially researching, and purchasing children’s books for the store. She has always loved children’s picture books and still has her tattered and torn spiral bound childhood favorite, “The Wonderful Window,” written by Beth Vardon, illustrated by Charlot BYJ. In addition, Kathleen has a collection of treasured books she read to her own children. Since books have always been a gift of choice for the children in Kathleen’s life, they know what to expect when an occasion to celebrate comes up with family or friends!

Kathleen embraced reading and writing poetry, a fruit of COVID, while walking miles daily, immersing herself in nature. She loves poetry and is working on her craft.

In 2021, Kathleen retired from her bookstore roll to fulfill her vision of writing children’s picture books to bring, “Love, Light, Spirit, Truth, Joy,” to little one’s beautiful hearts. She has been a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) since 2017.

Kathleen has three grown children and lives in Massachusetts with her husband, lab, and westie. She enjoys traveling, hiking, snowshoeing, canoeing, wildlife sanctuaries, and hanging out with trees.
